Mixed Reality Technology

Mixed Reality describes the different gradations between reality and virtuality as Augmented Reality and Augmented Virtuality. Their common point is the interaction between reality and virtuality. The user experiences a fascinating scene where real and virtual worlds merge.

Augmented Reality means that the user stays able to see his environment through the glasses and can interact with it. Additionally he sees virtual information which are projected on the glasses

For example show the glasses infomation to the buildings around the user when he has a look at them. As well describes the technology the fact that objects are included into the environment of the user. This part is very practical for industrial training because the company doesn´t have to provide a machine for every trainee.

Augmented Virtuality describes the immersion into a virtual worlds which contains elements of the real world. For instance objects or people coming from the real world are displayed in the virtual field of view of the user.

Virtual Reality explains the complete immersion into a virtual world. The user is blocked out of the real world and moves only in the virtual world via the glasses. Depending on the glasses the user is able to control his actions and move in the virtual world through voice and gestures.

Virtual Reality Glasses

“Welcome in the the virtual world”

The Google Glass are mostly used to add information to the real environment. Thanks to the light weight they are comfortable to wear even for a long time and enable hands-free working.

The Microsoft HoloLens is a mixed-reality smartglass that recognises and understands its surroundings and then overlays the real world with digital information.

Basically you can create your own world and design it by gesture and voice control.

Cardboards are VR Glasses which work with your phone inserted in the front and VR applications. The immersive effect is similar to the one you get with VR glasses. The user immerses fully into the virtual world.

With VR Glasses the user experiences the complete immersion into the virtual world. He can no longer see what happens in the real world around him.

Advantages of these VR Glasses are the light weight, which makes them comfortable to wear over a long time. As well is the field of view with 100 – 110° comparably wide.
But the user needs additional hardware and some special programs which do not run on every PC. Do not underestimate the additional costs for the equipment.
